X-ray Fluorescence Laboratory

Our core charges the following for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis:

• $15 per sample for NYU Langone researchers 
• $25 per sample for external researchers

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer Laboratory 

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) rates are as follows: 

• $50 per sample for NYU Langone researchers
• $75 per sample for external researchers

Metals Analysis Laboratory Sample Preparation

Our core charges $75 per hour for metals analysis laboratory sample preparation.

Our core personnel are responsible for sample preparation. The laboratory accepts samples prepared by an investigator’s technicians if the methodology used is appropriate as pre-evaluated and approved by Analytical Chemistry Core technical applications consultant Lung-Chi Chen, PhD, or by technical operations specialist Mianhua Zhong.

The clean room is available at no charge for users to prepare their samples for XRF, when the elimination of background contamination is essential. The sample preparation charges do not include the cost of consumables. Instrument calibration of the XRF and ICP-MS systems is included in the sample charges.

Prices listed are likely to increase by 3 percent annually, starting September 1, 2017.
