Covaris and Hydroshear Access Guidelines

Covaris S220 Sonicator

The equipment is located in Skirball 3rd floor, Lab One.  Take the following steps to become authorized to use Covaris at GTC:

Step 1:

Request authorization to schedule access to the Covaris equipment. 

Step 2:

Click here to schedule access to the Covaris equipment.  

At the time of the first experiment, you will be trained to use the equipment by the lab personnel. For the Covaris DNA fragmentation service, please bring at least 130 µl of DNA solution in EB buffer and specifications for the target fragment size.

Hydroshear

The equipment is located in Perelman Rusk 810.  Take the following steps to become authorized to use Hydroshear at GTC: 

Step 1:

Request authorization to schedule access to the Hydroshear equipment. 

Step 2:

Click here to schedule access to the Hydroshear equipment.  At the time of the first experiment, you will be trained to use the equipment by the lab personnel. For the Hydrshear DNA fragmentation service, it is recommended to start with 200 µl of DNA solution in EB buffer. Bring along the specifications for the target fragment size.
